Where is Real Estate in Charlottesville Virginia Located?
My primary area for representing buyers and sellers of Virginia real estate is in the central portion of Virginia, shown in the circle on the map of Virginia counties. It covers a wide area and an even wider array of property choices. As a realtor who specializes in the Charlottesville home listings of farms, estates, and luxury properties of Central VA, the counties in my primary area of business are colored on that map.
However, the Virginia farms and estates of Central VA sometimes require a bit wider range, where I also have represented clients in Augusta, Amherst, Rockbridge and Culpeper counties, among others. So I’ve included those Virginia counties for you so that you can get an idea of where they are too.
How Far From Charlottesville are Other VA Counties?
To give you a sense of drive time, Charlottesville is in the approximate center of its surrounding county of Albemarle, and it takes about 20-30 minutes to drive to any of Albemarle County’s adjacent counties.
Describe Central Virginia and Charlottesville
To the west of the city of Charlottesville in Albemarle County lie the Blue Ridge Mountains, providing a spectacular backdrop to the scenery.
In the opposite direction, heading northeast towards D.C. (approximately 2.5 hours from Charlottesville) you will pass the farms and mountains of the historic Shenandoah Trail in Greene County and Madison County.
The actual city of Charlottesville is in the center of Albemarle County. Charlottesville itself is only about 10 square miles but adjacent residential communities make it feel a lot larger. At the center of Charlottesville life are its downtown pedestrian shopping mall and its nearby University of Virginia.
