The Glenmore golf and country club began in 1992 as Charlottesville’s first ‘new’ upscale community. (New is a relative term in a region known for colonial history). The community features beautiful homes of traditional architecture on lovely landscaped settings, and the homes range from golf course villas and cottages to large estate homes and manor homes.
A person can see Thomas Jefferson’s home of Monticello and the Shenandoah Mountains as a backdrop while they dine at the stately Georgian clubhouse or play a round of golf on the 18-hole par 72 course. The clubhouse is a gathering place for meetings plus both formal and casual dining.
Glenmore’s golf course is a major attraction, and many who play the course at Glenmore choose to belong to the Keswick Golf Club nearby also. Other amenities at Glenmore include swimming pools (one is an adult-only pool), a fitness center and golf shop.
Tennis enthusiasts will enjoy Glenmore’s 12 tennis courts and there’s a special bonus for equestrians: your horses can be at home at Glenmore’s equestrian center to have them close to you.
